Permits

By obtaining a permit and following the Ontario Building Codes you are ensuring your project is steps closer to being structurally sound and safe. Generally, most projects require the building, plumbing and mechanical permits. The electrical permit is obtained by the electrician.

The majority of work on a building or dwelling requires a building permit - including additions, renovations, alterations and any project greater than 10m2 (108 ft2). Projects such as decks (most sizes), sheds (greater than 10m2), finishing your basement, or even widening of windows also require a building permit.
